FILLING THE SPACE (UNDER THE TV)

simpsonen503

In this blog, we will walk you through our process of picking out furniture for the space under the TV.

There is always that one space in your home where every time you walk past it you think "I should put something there!" or "What could I do to that space?" For Designer Becky it was this space under the TV. Looking to fill the empty space, Becky asked Endia (the intern) if she could come up with furniture ideas to complete the area.

The first step I took was to analyze the space. I took notice of the colors, patterns, and different textures that were already in the space. I decided to look for pieces that were gray, light-colored wood, or dark-colored wood to help draw in some of the colors that were already visible. I decided that the best way to display all the information was through a PowerPoint, I created 3 different sections to keep all the information organized.

The first page included images of inspiration for the space that I had found on Pinterest.

The second page included examples and options for the different pieces of furniture.

Included was the link to the item so all the details, reviews, and other pictures could be seen.

The third page included a quick Photoshop to give a visual of how the furniture would look in the space. This can be very helpful to clients who may have a hard time visualizing how something would look.

I used PowerPoint in the same format to create different views using different pieces of furniture we liked.

Being able to see your room with these different styles of furniture can be really helpful in determining which piece is right for you and your space.
